19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has endured a torrid year, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.

It is the player's maiden trophy after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court after spring of 2023.

Victory also means the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my children simultaneously, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, featuring in that event in the past months.

His retrieving play style and frequent reactions on court had led some to wonder if his capacity to perform at the highest level was finished.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, attempting to come to the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an better service.

He came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to push for a third set.

The opponent rescued 4 early-game break points in a competitive final set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he earned victory with a point at the net, with the Frenchman failing to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
