Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Warriors Group

Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot including angels, evil spirits, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within the city.

Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of adventurers who will split off from the primary party to begin their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.

This warrior group features the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).

Why Split the Party?

Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.

That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.

Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear unsuited, but the developments of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.

An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—used the enemy for his own means, entering the secret base, striking the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.

The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Additionally, each member has a individual motive to exit Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, desires vengeance.
  • The adventurer knows the region and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • But, their status as key figures in the powerful family could assist the group enter locations they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.

Pursued by Authorities

Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
  • Tyranny and The healer turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • Teor is wanted dead by the clan.

This results in them no alternative but to head to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.

Upcoming Developments

From the recent installment’s post-show segment, we learn that the combat party will not appear next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Seekers and Schemers tables.

Audiences can anticipate finding out which players will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on next week.
